FAQs

Many of our vintage jewellery pieces have been independently valued by a qualified expert (Sarina Cheney FGAA ) to ascertain the retail replacement value at a traditional jewellery store in Australia.

WHAT IS A RETAIL REPLACEMENT VALUE?

A Retail replacement value is the price stated on an item’s valuation certificate, which has been appraised by a qualified and independent expert.

WHAT IS A VALUATION CERTIFICATE?

A valuation certificate is a document that states the value of the piece in relation to current market conditions.

Each valuation certificate lists a detailed description of the piece - noting diamond/stone grading and information (such as clarity and carat weight) and listing any hallmarks.

Each certificate also features an image of the item that has been valued.

WHY DOES A VALUATION CERTIFICATE MATTER?

Our valuation certificates list the retail replacement price of the item in question, as deemed by a qualified industry expert, providing an official declaration of your items’ replacement value for insurance purposes. A valuation certificate also serves as proof of ownership in the event of a claim due to theft or loss.

HOW DO I KNOW IF AN ITEM COMES WITH A VALUATION CERTIFICATE?

If an item has indeed been accessed for a valuation, you’ll see a Retail Replacement Value listed next to the RRP within the product listing on moltenstore.com. If a vintage item does not have a Retail Replacement Value listed, it does not come with a valuation certificate.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY VALUATION CERTIFICATE?

An original hard copy of your valuation certificate will be supplied with your purchase.
